Ants vs. Termites
How do you tell them apart?
Three body segments pinched at the neck and waist
Elbow-shaped and divided into segments
Two pairs, the front wings larger than rear wings
Two body segments with similar thickness
Straight, thin, hair-like
Two pairs, equal in size
Ants and termites both come in a variety of colors, so it’s best not to use color as the defining trait to determine what you’re dealing with. The easiest way is to simply count how many body segments you can identify, as this is a clear giveaway.
Which of the following bugs are termites?
Ant infestations can be annoying, but a termite infestation is a serious problem that should be taken care of as soon as possible. Call Etheridge Pest Services if you’re dealing with either of these pests.
